01 — Training Lineage

Trained by the Best
in Canadian Taekwondo

Master Milad's foundation was shaped by the most respected figures in Canadian Taekwondo — with one mentor standing above all as the defining influence on how Endurance is taught today.

Primary Mentor
Master Tony Kook
Current President, BC Taekwondo Federation

The most influential figure in Master Milad's development. Master Kook first coached Milad in his high-school years at West Vancouver and Bowen Island Taekwondo, and later led North Shore Taekwondo, where Milad rose to head instructor. Master Kook's emphasis on confidence, technical excellence, and the lifelong pursuit of growth shapes how every Endurance class is structured to this day.

Grandmaster Ji Sun Choi
First Teacher — Former President, BC Taekwondo Federation

Master Milad's first teacher. Grandmaster Choi instilled the precision, discipline, and foundational philosophy that anchor Endurance to this day. Master Milad would go on to serve as Grandmaster Choi's final head instructor.

Heritage

Master Huy Phan opened Tri-City Taekwondo in Burnaby in 2012. He had coached Master Milad since 2002 and led North Shore Taekwondo before him. When Master Phan passed in 2023, his family entrusted his school to Master Milad, who carried it forward as Endurance's Burnaby home, honouring the teacher and peer who helped shape Master Milad's coaching voice.

02 — The Founding Story

Built From a
Single Promise

In 2014, Master Milad opened Port Moody Taekwondo with one clear vision: a school where families feel at home, and where every student has the support to grow. That first location became the foundation of what is now Endurance Taekwondo.

The name says it all. Endurance isn't just a brand — it's a promise: to show up, push through, and keep going, class after class, year after year.

Over the decade that followed, the program grew to three commercial locations across Metro Vancouver, earned 13 Readers' Choice Awards, and built a reputation as a school parents trust with their children's development — and where students return as adults to train alongside their own kids.

03 — Teaching Philosophy

Taekwondo Is a Vehicle,
Not a Destination

For Master Milad, every class builds the whole student: the focus to stay present, the confidence to lead, and the character to serve others. This philosophy flows straight from his lineage, and it shows in every colour belt and black belt ceremony he personally oversees.

The skills earned on the mat — resilience, respect, self-belief — are the same skills that carry students through school, careers, and life. That is the Endurance difference.

04 — Recognition & Leadership

Beyond the
Training Floor

2025
