Getting started
What age can my child start?
Four. Little Ninjas is ages 4 to 5, Tigers 5 to 7, Kids 7 to 13, and Teens & Adults is 14 and up. Not sure where your five-year-old fits? Bring them to Taekwondo 101 and we’ll place them.
How does the first class work?
Kids 13 and under start at Taekwondo 101, a free 45-minute class on Saturdays. One block, one punch, one kick, then a game. Every child breaks a board and goes home with a white belt. Parents stay and watch.

I’m 14 or older. How do I start?

Do we need experience, or to be fit first?
No. Everyone starts from the same place.
What do we wear the first time?
Comfortable clothes you can move in. We train barefoot. Bring water, and come 10 minutes early. You don’t need a uniform. When you join, the uniform’s a gift.

Where do I park?
Parking can get busy with our classes, and we share it with our neighbours. Please be kind and treat others the way you’d like to be treated.
- Port Moody: Don’t stop, idle or park in the red zone right in front of the school. It stays clear for emergency access. Please don’t block driveways, crosswalks or fire hydrants either.
- Burnaby: There’s a big parking lot. Just be mindful of our neighbours.
- Port Coquitlam: Park in our spots, or use the street parking on Dominion Avenue, a short walk away. Please cross with care.
