Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Endurance Taekwondo Inc. (“Endurance Taekwondo”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. It covers our three schools (Port Moody, Burnaby and Port Coquitlam), this website, and our programs, camps and events. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you book a class or enrol: the student’s name, date of birth and belt rank; the parent or guardian’s name, phone number, email and address; emergency contacts; and the agreement you sign.
Health and safety information: any injury, medical condition, allergy or medication you tell us about, so we can keep the student safe in class.
Payment information: the bank account or payment card you use for tuition. It’s held in our membership system and processed by its payment provider.
Attendance and progress: classes attended, belt tests and ranks.
Photos and video: we photograph and film classes, belt tests, tournaments, camps and events. See “Photos and video” below.
When you contact us: whatever you choose to share by phone, email, text, our website forms or in person.
When you visit this website: basic technical information (pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, how you found us), collected through cookies. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
Why we use it
- To run your membership: schedule classes, track attendance and belts, and keep your account up to date.
- To bill tuition and fees, and to keep the financial records the law requires.
- To keep students safe, and to reach you in an emergency.
- To tell you about schedule changes, closures, belt tests and events.
- To send you news and offers, only if you’ve agreed to it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how people use our website and how well our ads work.
- To meet our legal and insurance obligations.
We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we don’t use your information for anything else without asking you first.
Photos and video
Group and event photos and videos are part of how our school runs. When you enrol, you agree that the student and you may appear in them, and that we may use them on our website, social media, advertising, print and video. Individual photos (close-ups, or content that names or focuses on one student) need your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us. We’ll stop taking new individual photos of the student and remove existing ones from channels we control within a reasonable time. Your enrolment agreement has the full terms.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who help us run the school, such as our membership and billing system (Master K) and its payment provider, Google (email, forms, file storage, website analytics and ads), our website host, and our accountants and insurers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- When you ask us to, for example sending tournament or grading registration to a taekwondo organization.
- When the law requires or allows it, for example in an emergency involving someone’s health or safety, or to collect an unpaid account.
Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies through Google Analytics and Google Ads (managed with Google Tag Manager). They tell us which pages people visit, and whether someone who clicked one of our ads went on to book a class or contact us. We don’t use them to identify you personally. Our contact pages show Google Maps, and our booking buttons take you to Master K. Both have their own privacy policies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalization at Google’s My Ad Center. The site still works without cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Financial records are kept as long as tax law requires. Signed agreements and waivers are kept as long as a legal claim could be brought. When we no longer need information, we securely delete or destroy it. If we used your information to make a decision about you, we keep it for at least one year after that decision, as PIPA requires.
How we protect it
Access is limited to staff who need it for their job, and our systems are password protected.
Your choices and rights
- See your information: you can ask what personal information we hold about you or your child, how we’ve used it, and who we’ve shared it with.
- Correct it: if something’s wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it.
- Withdraw consent: you can withdraw consent at any time with reasonable notice, unless that information is needed to provide your membership or the law requires us to keep it. We’ll tell you what withdrawing means for your membership.
- Stop marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or just tell us.
We’ll answer requests within 30 business days.
